Chief Nurse, London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust
London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) is one of the largest integrated healthcare trusts in the country, providing hospital and community services to the people of Harrow, Brent, Ealing and beyond. With a dedicated team of 9,000 clinical and support staff, we serve a diverse population of approximately one million people and have an annual income in excess of £600m. Awarded university hospital status in December 2017, we have striven to be at the forefront of NHS best practice. Our stroke service is rated the best in the country and we are a research active Trust with more than 5000 patients taking part in clinical trials. We play a vital role in the education and training of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Northwick Park Hospital has the busiest A+E department in London and hosts a range of specialist services including the internationally renowned St Marks Hospital a specialist centre for colorectal disease. Central Middlesex Hospital is our planned care site with an Urgent Care Centre (UCC) while Ealing Hospital is a busy district general hospital with full 24/7 A+E and UCC. Within Community services we have a range of community services providing care closer to home as well as community beds and a local hospice.
In 2018, we set out our ambitions for the future in our clinical strategy, supported by clinical service delivery plans to continually improve clinical outcomes and patient experience. LNWH’s vision is to provide excellent clinical care in the right setting by being compassionate, responsive and innovative. We are clear this can only be achieved by supporting our staff, who are our most valuable asset. Our vision is driven by our HEART values and behaviours which were developed with our staff. These values describe how we interact with each other and our patients and must underpin everything we do to achieve our vision by putting patients at the HEART of everything we do.
As Chief Nurse, you will play an integral part in our future development, focussed on delivering our three core improvement areas: providing safer care, better outcomes and better experiences for all who use our services. You will provide inspirational leadership to our nursing, AHP and therapies workforce and bring with you a track record of success in developing a culture of continuous improvement and transformation. You will be experienced at working at Board level, happy to innovate and shape services to deliver a truly integrated system, able to navigate complex systems and multiple stakeholders.
