Spire Sussex Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse. The successful applicant will be joining a highly successful team based on an elective surgical unit. We offer a variety of surgical procedures including cardiac, neurology, gynaecology, plastics, cataracts, ear nose and throat and orthopaedics. You will be responsible for ensuring that standards of patient care are consistently maintained in accordance with agreed operational policies.

The Spire Sussex Hospital is situated near Hastings and shares the same site as the Conquest Hospital. It is a modern and immaculate hospital with a full multidisciplinary medical team onsite. We practice some of the most advanced treatments on the latest generation imaging, and diagnostic technology. This means we can offer everything from screening and rehabilitation through to leading-edge surgical procedures and excellence in specialist fields like orthopaedics, cardiology and general surgery all delivered through our expert and caring clinical team.

The nearest railway stations are Hastings Town and Battle, both approximately three miles away. Both stations usually have available taxis and the journey takes approximately five to 10 minutes. The Conquest Hospital has a main bus stop in its grounds with a short two-minute walk down to Spire Sussex Hospital.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assess patients' health and wellbeing across a complex and changing caseload.
  • Assist in the delivery of care to meet individuals' health and wellbeing needs.
  • Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information.
  • Develop own knowledge and skills and that of others.
  • Promote best practice in health, safety and security.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing services.
  • To provide advice, guidance and support to junior staff by maintaining professional standards to ensure the delivery of high quality care.
  • To deputise for senior staff when required.

Who we're looking for

You will be a Registered Nurse with current NMC Registration and experience ideally gained in surgical settings.
