An exciting opportunity had arisen for a dynamic, energetic and motivated nurse to become Matron of Moorfields Eye Hospital North Division East sites.

Moorfields NHS Foundation Trust is a centre of excellence providing high quality care across a range of ophthalmic specialities. Providing local services closer to home for patients is a gateway to accessing the specialist ophthalmic care that they require.

The North Division aims to consistently deliver high quality care meeting the national quality Indicators.  Most patients are cared for through effective treat and discharge pathways and we continue to develop new ways to provide excellent patient centred care.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they will provide strong clinical leadership to the Nursing workforce including ophthalmic technicians and health care assistants, developing registered nurses, as well as working with and supporting the team of Ophthalmic Specialist Practitioners.

The post holder will be required to work closely with the Divisional management team to ensure the delivery of safe and effective care that will lead to the achievement of care quality indicators and initiatives relevant to the services.

Applicants should be a registered nurse and have a BSc in Nursing or equivalent experience.  The successful candidate must have experience in leading and managing nursing teams and services and though not essential, may have an ophthalmic qualification, or have worked at an advanced level of ophthalmic practice.

Flexibility and adaptability in your approach to work is necessary to manage this area which is functional 6 days a week. You should also be able to demonstrate good planning, organisational and leadership skills to deliver both operational and quality improvement changes.

We can offer excellent training opportunities and support including the chance to follow a degree pathway at an advanced level if desired.

We would welcome an informal discussion or to arrange an informal visit.
