We have an opportunity for a Deputy Imaging Manager to join their team of staff in the Imaging department.

This is a FULL time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • BSC or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • State Registration (Professions Allied to Medicine).
  • Certificate of competence in administering intravenous injections
  • CT/MRI experience (desirable).
  • Strong post qualification experience in radiographic techniques and dealing with patients.
  • Good years supervisory experience.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Computer Skills
  • Radiographic skills - general - including fluoroscopy, ward and theatre radiography
  • Other imaging skills i.e. Mammography, CT scanning, Arteriography/interventional radiography, Urodynamics, MRI and Nuclear Medicine.
  • Health and safety and radiation protection and safety knowledge.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current radiographic techniques and equipment

Duties of this role include:

  • The day to day operational supervision of the Centre. Assisting the manager in the introduction of any changes, or new services, and in the efficient operation of the centre.  Together with the manager, maintain sufficient skill mix and staffing levels to meet the demands of the business.
  • To be 65 % clinical hands on and 35% admin. To be the Radiation Protection Supervisor for Radiology. Ensure full IR(ME)R compliance.  To “act up” as Manager in his/her absence.  To carry out a full range of general and specialised radiographic procedures maintained to high technical and patient care standards, and to apply the lowest radiation doses possible consistent with good diagnostic images, and a safe environment.
  • To be involved in and responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the Imaging Centre, and to provide the highest standard of service possible to all our customers.

  • To organise the day to day staffing of the department.  This includes planning rotas (daily and monthly), on call cover, evening sessions and Saturday morning sessions.
  • To administer Intravenous cannulation and injection of substances (contrast administration).
  • To assist in the month end report and accruals. 
  • The completion of time sheets for signing off to be sent to payroll
